Not only did I get the chance to play Silver Palace at gamescom 2026, but I also had the opportunity to interview the team behind it, Silver Studio. You can read all the exciting questions and answers here:
Thank you so much for the opportunity to do this interview! Playing Silver Palace was already a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to the finished game!
Thank you very much! The team is working tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver a polished game to players at launch.
Silver Palace uses Unreal Engine 5 as its foundation. As is well known, this engine can be very difficult to optimize, depending on the feature set. How are you approaching this, especially since Silver Palace is a mobile title that will also be released on PC and console?
We’re aware of the challenges that Unreal Engine 5 can present, and we’ve kept optimization in mind since the start of development. After all, it’s not just about the Unreal Engine – it’s also about the player base. Not everyone owns a cutting-edge mobile device, and since the PC platform is constantly introducing new graphical features, we’re working to make these available on mobile devices as well.
We’re also in close contact with chip manufacturers to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.
Can you already provide any details on the minimum system requirements?
I can’t say anything yet about mobile devices – we’re still actively working on that. For PCs, however, the minimum requirements will be very low. For our second closed beta test (CBT), we’ve lowered the requirements significantly, so you can already play Silver Palace with a GeForce 1060.
Speaking of the CBT, some players have commented that the price for drawing characters- 360 units of the Silver Palace currency – is very expensive. Will this be adjusted?
First of all, it’s important to note that the game is still in development and things are subject to change. We plan to review and evaluate the exact prices and underlying mechanics during the next playtest. Final details will be provided at launch.
We’re very aware that monetization is an important topic for the Western community, and our goal is to keep it at a reasonable and player-friendly level.
Anime gacha games are very often geared toward male players and feature a large number of female playable characters. The female community, on the other hand, is very often “fobbed off” with just a few male characters. How do you handle this issue at Silver Palace?
Feedback is incredibly important when it comes to topics like this, no matter who it comes from. And even though I can’t say anything about future banners or the scope of the game, I – or rather, we – are well aware that there are both female and male communities of game players. At Silver Palace, we strive to make all characters appealing to players of every gender. On the one hand, the game’s overall aesthetic naturally helps us with this, and on the other – and I can’t stress this enough – your feedback is very important to us.
How will the story of Silver Palace unfold? Can we expect an overarching storyline, or will each story update feature a sort of “Enemy of the Week”?
There will be an overarching storyline that will overshadow everything! But we’re also trying to incorporate classic fairy tales that everyone is sure to know. You’ll find these set in a steampunk, dark fantasy, and gothic game world. For example, Cinderella currently appears in the first chapter of Silver Palace.
How much content can players expect in Silver Palace 1.0?
Of course, I can’t give an exact figure for the game’s scope right now. [laughs] However, our current CBT includes about 40 hours of content for players to experience. The story itself takes eight to ten hours to complete.
Many development studios and publishers focus on the North American market when hosting events for their games. Other regions are only represented to a very limited extent. How are you addressing this issue?
From a marketing perspective – and thanks in part to gamescom- we’ve noticed just how strong the interest in our game is among the European player base. And for future events, we definitely want to include other regions as well, so that all Silver Palace fans can be reached and have the opportunity to attend.
While playing the demo, I noticed the rain, which makes the game look really pretty. Will there be a dynamic weather system?
Thank you very much for the compliment! But yes, we decided to include rain in the demo partly for presentation purposes. We’re also exploring a broader weather system, with graphical technologies such as ray tracing helping enhance the atmosphere and visual presentation of effects like rain and fog.
The current build at gamescom only covered a small part of a huge city. Will there also be large, expansive areas with forests?
Absolutely! We want to create a massive world with multiple cities and biomes without losing the game’s overall aesthetic. So stay tuned to see what else we’ll be adding. [laughs]
Thank you very much for the interview, and have a great gamescom 2026!
